Stem Cell Donation Awareness
The FAB People Project: Supporting Anthony Nolan to Inspire Life-Saving Action
At Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity, we are proud to support Anthony Nolan’s by delivering the FAB People Project, an initiative dedicated to educating and inspiring young people to become stem cell donors, blood donors, and organ donors. By working together, we aim to demystify the donation process, tackle misconceptions, and empower students to save lives.
What is The FAB People Project?
Working alongside Anthony Nolan, The FAB People Project is designed to educate and encourage young people—particularly those aged 16-30—to join the stem cell register and understand the lifesaving impact of donation. Many people battling blood cancers and disorders rely on finding a matching donor, and the more people who register, the greater the chance of saving lives.
How We deliver The FAB People Project
At Bemorefab CCC, we work alongside Anthony Nolan to deliver engaging, real-life storytelling sessions in sixth forms and universities across the country.
Sharing Our Story – We bring a personal perspective, explaining how donation has impacted our lives and those of the families we support. By hearing real experiences, students can see the tangible difference they could make.
Breaking Down Myths – There are many misconceptions about bone marrow donation. Some people fear that it is an extremely painful or complicated procedure. In reality, most donations are done via a simple process similar to giving blood, and while there can be some discomfort, it is far less daunting than many people imagine. We ensure students have the facts so they can make an informed and confident decision.
Inspiring Action – We don’t just talk about saving lives—we help make it happen. After our sessions, we work with Anthony Nolan to set up stem cell registration drives at the school or university, making it easy for students to sign up and become potential lifesavers.
Why this matters
Strangers willing to donate. By signing up, students have the chance to be that match and save a life.
